For over 40 years, The Burning Log has been Ottawa's premier fireplace expert, dedicated to providing superior customer service and offering the finest industry-leading brands in wood, electric, and gas fireplaces, as well as wood stokes and gas inserts. Our story began in 1965 with Lou Bourada, who left his career at the Ottawa Fire Department to start Poolarama, a swimming pool company. In the 1970s, Lou set his sights on constructing a building to operate from, and in 1976, Poolarama moved into its own building on Richmond Road. In 1978, Lou opened The Burning Log, with the goal of becoming Ottawa's #1 provider of wood and gas fireplaces. Today, The Burning Log, along with Poolarama and their sister store, Patio Comfort, are still in the building Lou Bourada built, owned and operated by his two sons, Derek and Steve Bourada, and their grandson, Adam.
