Our journey began in 1973 when our founder, Shir Paiwand, became involved in the carpet business as an apprentice at a carpet shop in Kabul, Afghanistan. It was there that he fell in love with the art of tribal carpets and decided to pursue his passion. With the guidance of his mentor, Sofi Abdul Wahid, Shir learned the intricacies of designing, dyeing, and weaving of various carpets. He spent years honing his skills, learning about the history and cultures of Central Asia, and building a valuable collection of genuine rugs from different parts of Afghanistan.
