At Hickory Lane Kitchens, we pride ourselves on being a Canadian-made, family-owned, and operated business with a rich history dating back to the late 1800s. Our story began with Reginald, my great-grandfather, who built carriages under the name Sunbury Carriage Works. My grandfather, who migrated to Canada in the early 1900s, became a homebuilder and mason. My mother, Betty, established a custom furniture business in Stouffville, Ontario in 1961, combining her cabinet-making skills with a strong sense of design. This tradition has been passed down to present day.

Our Process

Meet with a Designer
A first meeting with our designer will involve discussing dimensions, existing space images, appliance specs, inspirational photos, and ideas. We encourage clients to share as much information as possible concerning style, function requirements, timelines, and budget parameters. This initial meeting sets the stage for a custom design and quote.
Design and Quote
Following the initial meeting, our designer will create a custom design and quote based on the information provided. The quote outlines the scope of work, timeline, and budget. We also refine finish choices and add details to the design.
Site Measurements and Revisions
Site measurements are taken, and revisions are made to the design concept. Finishes are finalized, appliances are confirmed, and a tentative delivery date is scheduled. Final drawings are prepared, the contract is reviewed and signed, and a deposit is paid.
Production and Delivery
The cabinetry is now put into production. A second payment is due upon delivery of the cabinetry. We take great care in packaging and delivering our products to ensure they arrive at the installation site in the same condition as when they left our shop.
