Our Story

Lunenburg County, Nova Scotia, has long been renowned for its skilled craftspeople and makers. This tradition of craftsmanship is deeply rooted in the story of Robar Countertops, a family-owned business established by two brothers, Harry and Gerald Robar. Inspired by their experience working at H.W. Brady's, a local building supply firm, they dared to venture out on their own in 1979. Constructing their own shop and acquiring specialized equipment, they set out to create high-quality countertops at fair prices.

Their commitment to quality and value resonated with customers, leading to a rapid expansion of their business. Today, Robar Countertops operates a production facility that's more than three times the size of their original workshop, proudly managed by Harry's son, Artie Robar. Through constant modernization and innovation, the company has maintained its competitive edge in the marketplace, specializing in custom countertops and surfaces for both residential and commercial projects.

A significant milestone in the company's journey came in 2005 with the addition of DuPont Solid Surfaces to their product line. This expansion allowed Robar Countertops to become a certified Corian Solid Surface fabricator and installer, adding the acclaimed Corian Quartz product family to their offerings. The company's footprint has also grown through an expanding network of dealers who provide samples and professional installation services to customers across the region.
